Sundance Vacations Identified as One of the 2010 Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania

Wilkes-Barre, Pa (September 7, 2010) Sundance Vacations was recently named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for the fourth consecutive year in a row. Hundreds of employees anonymously participated in the survey process. Last year in the 2009 Best Places to Work in PA program, Sundance Vacations finished among the top 30 in the statewide employee poll for large-sized companies (251 or more employees).
This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places to be employed in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
• Have at least 25 employees in Pennsylvania;
• Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business;
• Be a publicly or privately held business;
• Have a facility in Pennsylvania; and
• Be in good standing with Commonwealth agencies under the Governor’s jurisdiction.
The combined score of a two-part process determined the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part of this process, worth 25%, evaluated company policies, practices and demographics while the second part, worth 75%, was a survey taken anonymously by employees of the applying companies.
“In a year that was full of uncertainly we’re proud to have kept our focus on our people,” said Sundance Vacations President John Dowd. “As a result of that focus our employees have honored us as one of the Best Places to Work in Pa for the fourth year in a row.“
Sundance Vacations will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in PA evening awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, PA. Rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.

While Sundance Vacations ranked #3,190 on the Inc. 500/5000 list, no other Pennsylvania travel business ranked higher than this Wilkes-Barre based wholesale travel company. Compared to the rest of the company, Sundance Vacations is the #15 fastest growing travel company in the United States.
The company improved their ranking over 1500 spots from last year’s ranking of #4,718. This is an incredible achievement given the state of the economy. Sundance Vacations Announces Winner of Final Facebook Cruise Giveaway Contest
Winner Selected by Sundance Vacations’ Facebook Community
Wilkes-Barre, Pa (June 25, 2010) – Sundance Vacations today announced that Faye Shank of Hanover, PA is the winner of the Final Facebook Cruise Giveaway Contest. This is the last cruise giveaway in a series of Facebook contests by Sundance Vacations to give away six free cruises between April and June. Faye was nominated and chosen as the winner of the free cruise by Sundance Vacations’ Facebook community.
Faye suffers from seizures due to a disease called Lupus. Because of the seizures, Faye said she was “home bound and literally dropped out of everyday activities for fear of a seizure coming without any warning and becoming seriously hurt in the falls.” Luckily, after three years on a waiting list at Canine Partners for Life, she now has Dreyfus. Dreyfus is a fully trained service dog with the special ability to sense seizure activity in humans. Faye said she is “now able to vacation safely & happily” with her service dog by her side. Faye wrote in her essay that “Dreyfus is my independence. He has seen me through weekly seizures and even alerted Christmas of '09 to a stroke so early that I was able to get to the hospital in time for the medicine to be effective.”
Scott Carey, Sundance Vacations Communications Director, said that, “Faye has put up with so much because of her seizures. It is great to know that Faye can now enjoy a vacation and not worry because she has the help she needs. Throughout the six contests the Sundance Vacations Facebook community really rallied around some of the most heartfelt and touching stories.”
Winners of the Sundance Vacations Cruise Giveaway will receive:
Sundance Vacations voucher for a four-day, three-night cruise for two;
Cruise leaves from ports in Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or Los Angeles;
Round-trip airfare for two (not to exceed $800 total) to port city;
